Valentine’s Day is a time of love and passion, a formal time to show appreciation for the one you love. For most of the world it is celebrated on February 14th, but that is not the case in Brazil. So, Brazilians can fully take part of the Carnaval festivities that take place in February this lover’s holiday was moved to June 12th.
Though the date is different, Valentine’s day in Brazil is celebrated like most of the world. Though not a must, lovers will exchange thoughtful gifts and spend time with each other. Often the day includes a nice but light meal, homemade or at a fancy restaurant, and dancing or a concert afterwards.
